It looks like there may be a big screen version of classic 80's TV series Magnum P.I. The Chicago SUn Times reports, 'Tom Selleck tells GLARE, "It's obvious with all the television series they're making into movies these days that there's a demand for a film. In fact, in every interview I do people ask me, 'Hey Tom, how come we've never seen "Magnum: The Movie?" Even Magnum himself can't solve that mystery. "The whole thing is so screwed up at Universal [Studios]," Selleck gripes about the company that produced his
1980-88 CBS series. "Over the years, they've occasionally wanted a movie,
and then new powers arrive at the studio and they don't want it. There's not
enough continuity there, so I've said, 'Why don't you give me the rights, because I can do a feature film anywhere in town?' But Universal won't let the rights go. Yet, they won't do the movie."
